Lecturers, EPST research officers and EPIC and EPST engineers, not authorized to supervise research, must request authorization in order to be able to co-supervise a doctoral student registered at UBFC, under the responsibility of an authorized colleague. to conduct research.
Other personalities (not belonging to higher education establishments, public research organizations or research foundations), holders of a doctorate, wish to supervise or co-supervise theses must follow the procedure below (paragraph 2 of chapter 16 of the order of May 25, 2016, consolidated by the order of July 1, 2016).
This internal procedure also meets one of the regulatory conditions for registration for the Authorization to Direct Research (HDR). Article 4 of the ministerial decree of 23 November 1988 specifies that the file must show the candidate’s experience in conducting research.
Note that this procedure is limited to two simultaneous frames. In addition, the total number of co-directors for non-HDR can not exceed 4 during their career. Beyond this number, the co-director will have to obtain his HDR.
The co-supervision authorization request must be submitted to the Doctoral School (ED SPIM) to which the research unit is attached and must include:
- the non-HDR co-direction request form;
- a CV specifying past and current co-directorships;
- the list of the applicant’s work.
The request is examined by the president of UBFC, who decides on a proposal from the director or deputy director of the ED and after consulting the restricted ACC.
This authorization is required for each supervised doctoral student.
