Nearly 450 doctoral students work there spread over the normal 3 years of the training cycle. They are spread over 9 towns in Burgundy Franche-Comt\u00e9: Besan\u00e7on, Belfort, Dijon, Montb\u00e9liard, Nevers, S\u00e9venans, Le Creusot, Auxerre and Chalon-sur-Sa\u00f4ne. It awards an average of 110 doctoral degrees per year.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Its objective is to offer its doctoral students quality training in research and through research and to help them prepare for their professional future. Based on the activities of 11 research units (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.femto-st.fr\"><span class=\"s2\">FEMTO-ST<\/span><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/imvia.u-bourgogne.fr\/\"><span class=\"s2\">ImViA<\/span><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/icb.u-bourgogne.fr\/\"><span class=\"s2\">ICB<\/span><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/lib.u-bourgogne.fr\/\"><span class=\"s2\">LIB<\/span><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/isat.fr\/recherche\"><span class=\"s2\">DRIVE<\/span><\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ciad-lab.fr\/\"><span class=\"s2\">CIAD<\/span><\/a>, <span class=\"s2\"><a href=\"https:\/\/lab-sinergies.fr\/fr\/\">SINERGIES<\/a><\/span>, <a href=\"https:\/\/elliadd.univ-fcomte.fr\/\">ELLIADD<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.icmub.com\/fr\/\">ICMUB<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/leadserv.u-bourgogne.fr\/fr\/\">LEAD<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/iramat.cnrs.fr\/belfort\/\">IRAMAT<\/a>), the SPIM Doctoral School offers a particularly rich and favourable framework for high-level research. The doctoral school concentrates research in the fields of optics and electronics, mechanics and energetic systems, materials, automation and computer science. Particular emphasis is placed on the internationally recognised cutting-edge sectors of microtechnology: advanced materials, intelligent structures and waves.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">It also benefits from the scientific resources and networks of 4 establishments (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.univ-fcomte.fr\/\">Universit\u00e9 Marie et Louis Pasteur<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ube.fr\/\">Universit\u00e9 Bourgogne Europe<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.utbm.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Universit\u00e9 Technologique de Belfort-Montb\u00e9liard<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.supmicrotech.fr\">SupMicrotech ENSMM<\/a><\/span><span class=\"s1\">) to which it is attached, which allows it to ensure the supervision of the
