Some events organized every year at UBFC, at national or international level <\/h2>\n

The Doctoral Day for new PhD students <\/h2>\n

The Doctoral Day (JRD) is a full day of information for first-year UBFC PhD students. Their presence is mandatory.<\/p>\n

The morning brings together all first-year doctoral students: welcome, distribution of documentation, information on training, on the skills acquired in the doctoral program and their valorization, thematic conferences.<\/p>\n

In the afternoon, each doctoral school proposes a specific meeting for its PhD students.<\/p>\n

Transport and meals for PhD students are organized and paid for by UBFC.<\/p>\n

The JRD takes place every year in mid-November. The next JRD will take place in Dijon on 17 November<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Ma thesis in 180 seconds <\/h2>\n

Initiated for the first time in French language in 2012 in Quebec by the Association francophone pour le savoir (Acfas), the “Ma th\u00e8se en 180 secondes” competition was launched in France in 2014 by the CNRS and the CPU.<\/p>\n

The competition offers PhD students the opportunity to explain their thesis topic in just three minutes, making it exciting and understandable to everyone. Each PhD student must thus make a clear, concise and yet convincing presentation of their research project, all with the support of a single slide! This is a unique opportunity for them to popularize the content and issues of their work with the general public and to acquire communication skills that go far beyond the simple exercise of style. To meet the challenge, PhD students receive training, with the goal of helping them vulgarize their research and quickly capture the attention of an audience. <\/p>\n

Each year, UBFC organizes the Regional Final of the competition: 10 regional finalists are selected to participate, try to win one of the two regional prizes (Audience Prize and Jury Prize) and reach the regional semi-finals, the national final and even the international final!<\/p>\n

The PhD students also have the opportunity to make their presentation to the high school students of the Region during the session reserved for them each year, at the end of which the Rectorate awards a High School Student Prize on their behalf to the students’ favourite candidate.<\/p>\n

The next MT180 session will take place in Besan\u00e7on on Tuesday 23 March 2021, at the Th\u00e9\u00e2tre de l’Espace<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Graduation ceremony <\/h2>\n

Each year the doctoral degrees for all the UBFC doctors of the year are awarded. This graduation ceremony is organized at the level of the UBFC doctoral college. <\/p>\n

It is a festive moment to be shared with friends and family and is an opportunity for exchanges between doctors of the different UBFC Doctoral Schools.<\/p>\n

The next graduation ceremony will take place on Friday 18 December 2020, in Besan\u00e7on! <\/b><\/p>\n

La f\u00eate de la science<\/b><\/p>\n

The \u201cf\u00eate de la science\u201d is a major popular and scientific event that is organized every year at national level and in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comt\u00e9 region.<\/p>\n

The European Researchers’ Night <\/h2>\n

This annual event offers everyone the opportunity to meet the researchers, to take part in real scientific experiments and surprising activities.<\/p>\n
